My 2022 Goals: How I’m Planning to Achieve Them

Let’s talk about resolutions. I like to think of resolutions as goals because they become more actionable.

Instead of resolutions, I pursue goals.

With resolutions, you resolve to do something, but with goals, you create a plan of action to make it happen.

So what are my 2022 goals?

A lot!

A few weeks ago, I sat down and crafted my vision board for 2022–something I hadn’t done in a while. I mean, sure, I still had goals in 2021.

One of them was finally self-publishing a contemporary young adult novel, which I achieved earlier this year.

But after that, even though I had stuff planned out the year before, but somehow I went into a hiatus without planning to.

I can’t explain it, but it had something to do with the feeling of uncertainty and fear brought about by the pandemic.

But I’m glad I got that spark of excitement back and part of it has got to do with my decision to rebrand my blog, and finally pursue another big goal!

Before I go into my goal-setting for the year, I start with my theme for the year.

Last year, I mentioned that my 2021 theme was about being financially stable and abundant.
This year, my goal is an expansion and extension of that.

My 2022 Goals & Theme

My theme for the year is to be a “financially successful blogger excited to create content and show up”

I want to be able to increase my blogging income while having more fun.

Content creation can get repetitive when you’re on a content hamster wheel pumping out piece after piece.

So, this 2022, I am choosing to have more fun showing up while still giving value and expanding my blogging business.

After I decide on a theme, I then choose what big focus I will have per quarter.

I’m doing this a little differently this year, by having one big focus the whole year, which is to launch my membership and grow it to my first 100 members.

Of course, I have other goals, too, like:

  • Hitting 1000 email subscribers
  • Gaining 10,000 followers on Instagram & Tiktok
  • Hitting a certain revenue goal from content creation (a mix of membership income, online products, affiliate marketing and sponsored posts).

Quarter 1 Goal: Launch my membership

A membership is something I wanted to launch since 2019, but kept putting off mostly because I wasn’t sure how to execute it without burning out.

And I wasn’t sure which platform to host my membership because of some technical challenges (i.e. the payment server associated with my current online shop provider isn’t available in my country yet, so I won’t be able to get paid using that platform. HOWEVER, things have fallen into place, and I found a solution to this!)

Before officially launching, I would like to do a beta round to figure out how best to give value in the membership.

If you’re interested in joining the beta round which will most likely be in January

Quarter 2-4: Promote my membership via TikTok & Instagram and increase revenue targets each quarter

Since I’m aiming to hit 10,000 followers on TikTok and Instagram, I’m going to focus on promotion via these channels. So why 10,000 followers? To be honest, part of it is vanity metrics. Hahaha! I admit it.

I want 10,000 followers because it’s a milestone for bloggers.

Before, it was so I could get the swipe up link on Instagram, but now it’s more about just reaching that milestone.

And with that milestone, hopefully, be able to book more sponsorships in those channels as well.

In my country, sponsored deals are usually dependent on your number of followers, not so much on engagement.

I want to test it out and see if reaching that number really will open up more sponsored post opportunities.

How am I planning to achieve these goals? In a nutshell, this is the plan:

  • Batch create my membership content in advance to avoid burnout
  • Planning out my content 3 months in advance which I’m happy to say I’ve done using this content calendar to help me stay on track
  • Test out the different content topics people will be consuming inside the membership platform
  • Leverage Tiktok to grow membership & following; and repurpose Tiktok videos into Reels

And so far, that’s it! Let’s see how it goes, focusing on one big goal for the year. I’m excited to see where this experiment takes me. What are your goals this 2022?

  1. Okay, so as someone who loves talking about goals, I love your whole approach here, not just the goals themselves (those are great too). Setting up goals in a sort of hierarchy like you have, with a big theme/vision, and then nesting the more specific goals under it, has been a big help for me. You always know what the big “why” is to come back to, but then you also have a clear roadmap for how you’re planning to get there. Looks awesome, wish you the best on all your progress this year!

  2. I can’t wait to see your membership in the next few months. Also, I hope you have a great year. Thank you for sharing.
