With just over a month to go until the eagerly awaited debut of The Remarried Empress, last week fans flocked to catch another glimpse of the Eastern Empire, with the official trailer amassing over 13 million views in the first 48 hours on YouTube and social media platforms.
In celebration of this milestone, fans will get another exciting preview of the series when an all-new special look featurette drops later today exclusively on Disney+ Philippines.
Set to premiere on Disney+ at 3:00PM (Philippine Time), the upcoming special look features never-before-seen footage and new interviews with The Remarried Empress stars Shin Mina, Ju Jihoon, Lee Jongsuk and Lee Seyoung as they discuss what first drew them to the series, and their approach to portraying such well known characters.
Series director Cho Suwon, screenwriter Yeoh Geena, and the team behind the show also share new looks at sets and costumes and discuss the challenges posed by adapting such a widely loved work, including how they scouted 16 different real-world castles across France, Germany and the Czech Republic to identify one that accurately conveyed the majesty of the original webtoon.
The release of today’s featurette also marks the first time a Korean Original has debuted a special look exclusively on Disney+ once again reflecting the anticipation surrounding the series ahead of its November 4 release date.
Based on the hit NAVER WEBTOON of the same name that’s amassed close to three billion views to date,The Remarried Empress follows the strained relationship between beloved Empress Navier and her husband Emperor Sovieshu of the Eastern Empire. With anxieties rising across the land, the couple’s relationship begins to fracture when Sovieshu falls in love with a runaway slave and attempts to move heaven and earth to win her heart.
Unwilling to compromise her dignity, Navier acquiesces to the emperor’s request on one condition: that she be allowed to remarry rival Crown Prince Heinrey of the Western Kingdom.
What follows is a tale of love, lust and regret that threatens the fate of an entire empire as Navier strives to reclaim her power.
Set to debut with a four-episode premiere on November 4, fans can look forward to two new episodes of The Remarried Empress dropping every Wednesday through the series finale on November 25, only on Disney+ Philippines.
